I have learned a lot from my classmates so far...

Image
Hi there! I have seen many presentations done by my classmates and I have learned many new things. Even though we are not 100% free to make our lesson as we want because our subject requires or "obliges" us to use technological tools, these requirements have changed our way of presentation. When my classmates make their presentation, they not only make these technological tools part of the lesson they are going to present, but they have to integrate them with their explanation. Some of them use videos, some others Power Points and others can show us a song accompanied with the topic they are going to present. These tools makes the lesson fantastic. I haven't thought before that the lesson might be interesting if we make it different from that traditional way of teaching. But, indeed, making technology part of explanation creates a great environment. It gives you the opportunity to explain the lesson, to make your students follow you, feeling good because of the entertainm...

Interactive Whiteboard

Image
On Monday, professor Ymer Leksi, from Aleksander Xhuvani University of Elbasan, hold a lecture about Interactive Whiteboards. It helps us a lot if we want to teach English to our students. It has the ability to get accompanied with a CD and there you have all your units you want to teach to your students. One of them, for instance, is "To the top". It is a program designed for beginners who want to learn English language. "To the top" contains all the units and after one unit has finished, you can play games, view videos, make quizzes and lots of other things in order to improve your English. And, what is more, these additional tasks that you do after each unit are related to the unit you have learned so far. That's what it makes it interesting!  I'm pretty sure that I am going to use Interactive Whiteboard in the future.

My first impression about the project

I had to present my project today. It was an anxious day for me for many reasons. Firstly, I was going to be the first to present it. And this has its difficulties because you don't have an example or a preview of a presentation in order to have an idea about pros and cons of it. You are the first and you are going to be the first example for others, meaning that your presentation should be as perfect as possible. Another reason is that I chose a grammatical topic. In every language the grammar part is that "black-and-white", or the boring part. It was very difficult for me to make the lesson interesting and to entertain the audience with a grammar topic. How could the students laugh or find it interesting by explaining "Active and Passive Voice" to them? The third and the most important reason why I felt anxious today is that I had to use technological tools. It was totally new for me. I have had some experiences explaining some topics in front of the cla...

Presentation day!

Image
Ardit and I are going to present a very interesting topic, that is Active and Passive Voice. We are the first pair and this is a bit difficult for us. It would be better if we could have listen some other presentations before doing our own, but anyway...  We will use all the three technological tools that are required. The explanation of this topic is going to be done by using a video, a power-point material and of course by practicing it. We'll use a lot of different exercises in order to make it clear for the audience.  Anyway, we're pretty sure that we'll succeed tomorrow!

My first impression of WebQuest

Image
I found WebQuest very interesting. It is an inquiry-lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. I learned that it is a web-based learning activity. I am going to teach Active and Passive Voice and that's the reason why I created Webquest.
